Buhari's administration to use
recovered funds for jobs
creation

President Muhammadu Buhari has said the
stolen funds recovered from former public
officers would be used for creating jobs for
the youths.
The country leader made a claim on Friday,
April 29, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation
Camp, Gbakuta, Iseyin, Oyo State, PM News
reports.
Represented by Mrs Ololade Agboola of the
Ministry of Youths, Buhari noted:
“One of the disturbing problems inherited by
this administration is increasing
unemployment amongst young people. In fact,
the unemployment situation has taken a great
toll on the Nigeria youths at their prime
productive ages.

Sahara Reporters provides with reference to
its sources within the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that
the agency has traced N3.6bn in stolen
funds to the former minister of
aviation, Stella Oduah.
According to the report, Oduah who served
under Goodluck Jonathan’s
administration secured several multi-billion
naira contracts to upgrade Nigeria’s 22
airports, however a substantial amount of
the money was pocketed by the minister.
The information was obtained from the

league and Newcastle taking a major step
towards EPL safety.

Everton 2-1 Bournemouth

The Goodison Park outfit broke a run of
seven EPL games without a victory to ease
the pressure on their beleaguered manager
from the sack.
An emotional one minute applause to mark
the verdict of the Hillsborough disaster
inquests was observed before the match,
with families welcomed to the pitch in a
show of solidarity with their neighbours
Liverpool.
The home side quickly took advantage of
the fans goodwill spirit by going ahead in
the seventh minute when Tom Cleverly’s
precise strike into Boruc’s bottom left corner
after some neat passage of play opened the
scoring.
The advantage only lasted two minutes when

Joshua King’s mishit shot fell kindly to Mark
Pugh to bundle home and level the scoring
before Leighton Baines put Everton back in
front after 64 minutes with a powerfully
struck shot from Cleverley’s assist.
A late rally by the visitors came to nothing
as Everton held on to only their fifth home
league victory of the season.
Smiling coach of Newcastle, Rafa Benitez
Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace
Andros Townsend continues his impressive
rich vein of form to lift Newcastle out of the
relegation zone and boost their hopes of
Premier League survival.
Townsend’s strike, coupled with a dramatic
penalty save from the Newcastle goalkeeper
Karl Darlow ensured a valuable home victory
for the Magpies and instilled a first defeat
for the returning former Newcastle manager
Alan Pardew.
A magnificent 25 yard curling free-kick from
Townsend early in the second half – 55th
minute after he was brought down by Scott
Dann, proved decisive, thanks to the
exploits of Darlow, who got down low to
save a poor penalty from ex-Newcastle
player Yohan Cabaye with 20 minutes
remaining.

The very important victory saw the hosts
take a valuable advantage of Sunderland’s
draw at Stoke City to move out of the
bottom three and give them a strong chance
of avoiding the drop with two matches left to
play.
Stoke City celebrates goals
Stoke City 1-1 Sunderland
Jermaine Defoe’s fourth consecutive away
goal – his 14th of the season overall, was
not enough to keep them out of the
relegation zone.
Sunderland who have only won once in their
last eight matches have now slipped to 18th,
courtesy of relegation rival, Newcastle
United’s home victory to Crystal Palace but
with a game in hand.
Arnautovic opened the scoring in the 50th
minute from Peter Crouch’s knockdown
before Defoe’s injury time penalty equaliser
levelled the scoring.
Sunderland now have two difficult matches
against Chelsea – who are trying to impress
their manager elect, and Everton – whose
manager needs victory to save himself from
the sack.
West Ham players celebrates their victory
West Brom 0-3 West Ham
West Ham boosted their European football
qualifying hopes for next season with a three
goal trashing of the home side.
Mark Noble – who scored a brace in two
consecutive games, and Cheikhou Kouyate –
who scored one and assisted another,
helped West Ham record a comfortable
victory away to West Brom.

Woman killed in crash seconds
after posting on Facebook. Her
last words were heartbreaking!

Stay focused when you are on the road!
Distractions take a motorist’s attention off
driving. So, he can miss critical events,
objects, and cues or abandon control of a
vehicle, all potentially leading to a crash.
Distracted drivers put not only themselves
at risk, but everyone else using the road.

Authorities have used this accident to
remind drivers not to drive while distracted.
Courtney Sanford was driving to work in the
USA when she decided to share some
updates on Facebook, and post a few selfies.

A minute later, she was dead from a head-on
collision.
At 8:33am, the 32-year-old woman posted
“The happy song makes me HAPPY!” on her
Facebook. At 8:34, police got a call about
the crash.
Sanford crossed the median and drove head-
on into a truck, causing her car to catch fire.
She also caused the truck to run off the
road and hit a tree, though the driver was
uninjured.
“In a matter of seconds, a life was over just
so she could notify some friends that she
was happy,” High Point police Lt. Chris
Weisner said.

He added: “As sad as it is, it is a grim
reminder for everyone… you just have to pay
attention while you are in the car.”

Buhari came at the right time -
Ngige

– President Muhammadu Buhari is not yet
one year old in office and Nigerians are
already calling for his head due to the
economic challenges the citizens are facing
daily.
– One time governor of Anambra state and
current Minister of Labour and Employment,
Dr Chris Ngige believes the slow pace of the
All Progressive Congress (APC) led federal
government will still materialise into
something fruitful at the end of the day for
Nigerians
– The former Senator wondered why some
sections of the country believe President
Buhari should be blamed more for the
incessant national problems, which seem to
resist solution.
Dr Chris Ngige, who heads the Ministry of
Labour and Employment said Nigerians
should be grateful to God for the coming of
President Muhammadu Buhari as the
nation’s number one citizen at this time of
economic downturn. He said Nigerians could
be complaining about the various challenges
presently, but thinks, something will be done
to assuage the problems.
He stated: “Well, first and foremost, I have to
thank the Nigerian people for electing us, for
believing in us and our mantra of change. I
can tell you unequivocally here that we have a
four year mandate, and within this period,
Nigerians will smile. The question of being
despondent now after just ten months of the
administration should not arise. You know that
as the Igbos say, to start to cry is usually very
difficult, but when you start, the tears flow. I
am going to tell you that we are in our tenth
month of a-four-year tenure, and a-four-year
tenure is 48 months, so we have 38 months
left.

Cheating husband wanted a divorce until his wife did THIS

Cheating husband wanted a
divorce until his wife did THIS.
Her secret made me cry!

We present you a story that took the
Internet by a storm. Married or not, you
should read this! The story will show you
how important it is to appreciate and love
those close to you with all your heart —
while you’ve still got the chance…
“When I got home that night my wife served
dinner, I held her hand and said, “I’ve got
something to tell you“. She sat down and ate
quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her
eyes.
Suddenly I didn’t know how to open
my mouth. But I had to let her know what I
was thinking about divorce. I raised the
topic calmly. She didn’t seem to be annoyed
by my words, instead she asked me softly,
”why“? I avoided her question. This made
her angry. She threw away the chopsticks
and shouted at me, “you are not a man”!
That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She
was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out
what had happened to our marriage. But
I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer;
she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn’t love
her anymore. I just pitied her!
With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted
a divorce agreement which stated that she
could own our house, our car, and 30% stake
of my company. She glanced at it and then
tore it into pieces. The woman who had
spent ten years of her life with me had
become a stranger. I felt sorry for her
wasted time, resources and energy but I
could not take back what I had said for I
loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly
in front of me, which was what I had
expected to see. To me her cry was actually
a kind of release. The idea of divorce which
had obsessed me for several weeks seemed
to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late
and found her writing something at the
table. I didn’t have supper but went straight
to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I
was tired after an eventful day with Jane.
When I woke up, she was still there at the
table writing. I just did not care so I turned
over and was asleep again.
In the morning she presented her divorce
conditions: she didn’t want anything
from me, but needed a month’s notice
before the divorce. She requested that
in that one month we both struggle to live
as normal a life as possible. Her reasons
were simple: our son had his exams
in a month’s time and she didn’t want
to disrupt him with our broken marriage. This
was agreeable to me. But she had
something more, she asked me to recall
how I had carried her into out bridal room
on our wedding day. She requested that
every day for the month’s duration I carry
her out of our bedroom to the front door
ever morning. I thought she was going crazy.
Just to make our last days together
bearable I accepted her odd request.
I told Jane about my wife’s divorce
conditions. She laughed loudly and thought
it was absurd. “No matter what tricks she
applies, she has to face the divorce“, she
said scornfully.
My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact
since my divorce intention was explicitly
expressed. So when I carried her out on the
first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son
clapped behind us: ”daddy is holding mommy
in his arms.“ His words brought me a sense
of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting
room, then to the door, I walked over ten
meters with her in my arms. She closed her
eyes and said softly, “don’t tell our son
about the divorce.” I nodded, feeling
somewhat upset. I put her down outside the
door. She went to wait for the bus to work.
I drove alone to the office.
On the second day, both of us acted much
more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could
smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized
that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully
for a long time. I realized she was not young
any more. There were fine wrinkles on her
face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had
taken its toll on her. For a minute I
wondered what I had done to her.
On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt
a sense of intimacy returning. This was the
woman who had given ten years of her life
to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized
that our sense of intimacy was growing
again. I didn’t tell Jane about this. It became
easier to carry her as the month slipped by.
Perhaps the everyday workout made
me stronger.
She was choosing what to wear one
morning. She tried on quite a few dresses
but could not find a suitable one. Then she
sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger.
I suddenly realized that she had grown
so thin, that was the reason why I could
carry her more easily. Suddenly it hit me…
she had buried so much pain and bitterness
in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out
and touched her head.
Our son came in at the moment and said,
”Dad, it’s time to carry mom out.“ To him,
seeing his father carrying his mother out had
become an essential part of his life. My wife
gestured to our son to come closer and
hugged him tightly. I turned my face away
because I was afraid I might change
my mind at this last minute. I then held her
in my arms, walking from the bedroom,
through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her
hand surrounded my neck softly and
naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just
like our wedding day.
But her much lighter weight made me sad.
On the last day, when I held her in my arms I
could hardly move a step. Our son had gone
to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn’t
noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I drove
to the office.…jumped out of the car swiftly
without locking the door. I was afraid any
delay would make me change my mind…I
walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I
said to her, ”Sorry, Jane, I do not want the
divorce anymore.“
She looked at me, astonished, and then
touched my forehead. “Do you have a fever?”
she asked. I moved her hand off my head.
“Sorry, Jane“, I said, ”I won’t divorce.
My marriage life was boring probably
because she and I didn’t value the details
of our lives, not because we didn’t love each
other anymore. Now I realize that since I
carried her into my home on our wedding
day I am supposed to hold her until death
do us apart.” Jane seemed to suddenly
wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then
slammed the door and burst into tears.
I walked downstairs and drove away. At the
floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet
of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked
me what to write on the card. I smiled and
wrote, “I’ll carry you out every morning until
death do us apart.”
That evening I arrived home, flowers
in my hands, a smile on my face, I run
up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed —
dead.

happens next will shock you!

Everyone knows Pui, the heroic dog, in his
rural Thailand town, because he saved the
life of a premature baby!
It was an usual hot day. Pui was rummaging
through some garbage, and he came across
something a little out of the ordinary.

The dog picked this strange plastic bag, and
brought it to his owner. The man’s 12-year-
old daughter took a glimpse inside the bag.
And… came face-to-face with a very
premature baby girl.
Immediately they brought the weak baby to
a hospital, where she was hooked up to an
incubator.
Pui became a hero in his town. Red Cross
officials awarded him a leather collar and a
medal as a token of appreciation for his
noble act.
What about the rescued baby? Multiple
families offered to adopt little girl. Also
officials are looking for the mother and
whoever is responsible for the attempted
murder.
It’s amazing that Pui knew there was a tiny
person in trouble. He proved that dogs are
the most loyal man’s friends.

There is a reaction to every action; most
ladies are naturally cautious and it would be
a lie to think most of them do not think or

the very first time they visit them.
As a result of this, women also devise
methods that would protect them as much

but women are able to prolong the

“My own cows have been stolen twice; last
year and this year. It was never like this until
this present government came to power. For
people to be able to steal cows in the day
time in Nigeria that shows the level of
insecurity.”
“It is terrible. The President and his
government are weak. Has the President said
anything since the Fulani herdsmen started
this senseless killings?” he asked.
“Let us not deceive ourselves. The President
is quiet because he is a weak President. The
state (Kaduna) government is also very weak
in terms of security. They have put the lives of
Nigerians in danger more than any government
in recent times,” he said.
He explained that the current level of
confidence with which the Fulani herdsmen
carries out their activities across the country
in total disregard for indigenous people who
owns the land in the first instance without a
word from the President, supports the
arguments in some quarters that they are
backed by highly placed government
officials.

enate to end B.Sc and HND dichotomy in Nigeria

Senate to end B.Sc and HND
dichotomy in Nigeria

– The differences in the degrees acquired at
universities, polytechnics and colleges will
be balanced soon
– “It is the right of every Nigerian child to
be educated by the government.”
– Achieving gender parity through
education?
The degrees acquired at universities,
polytechnics and colleges are to be treated
as of equal importance and the senate
committee on tertiary education is currently
working on it.

The chairman of the committee, Sen. Binta
Garba, commented on the process in Abuja
on Wednesday:
“Again what we are doing as a committee on
tertiary institution; we are trying to come out
with a conference on legislative agenda on
education. We are trying to look at all other
summits on education, trying to look at
policies of government on education and trying
to see how we can have a balance.
Not every one of us can go to the university
because this syndrome or dichotomy between
the university, polytechnic and colleges of
education, I think we want to streamline it and
allow every person that has gone to any
tertiary institution to believe that he is not a
second class citizen, but a first class citizen.”
Gender parity and education in Nigeria
Touching on the matter of gender equlaity
she stated: “First and foremost I am a firm
believer in gender parity, not gender equality
because when we talk about gender equality, it
sends a very wrong signal even to the men
folk.

Opinion: Buhari should stop playing with Nigerian lives

Opinion: Buhari should stop
playing with Nigerian lives

Editor’s note: While President Muhammadu
Buhari has finally addressed the issue of the
Fulani herdsmen , Nigerians continue to call on
their president to stop the killing. Paul E.
Michael, a criminologist and civil activist,
writes to Buhari, asking to stop playing ethnic
card with the lives of Nigerians.
Buhari seems not interested in curbing
Fulani herdsmen
As one who staked his integrity and life in
defence of the then General Muhammadu
Buhari presidential ambition, I find it totally
disappointing that President Buhari seems
not interested in curbing the unruly and
bloody conducts of the Fulani herdsmen,
which have resulted in the death of several
Nigerians across the country. The inability of
Mr. President to respond promptly to the
early actions of the herdsmen has made the
situation to degenerate into serial attacks. If
the president fails to act now, then we shall
have every reason to believe that our
president is running a Fulani agenda, as
claimed by some commentators.

CCT Chairman should resign

CCT chairman should resign:
FG queries Saraki's moral right

– The Senate president Bukola Saraki is
insisting the CCT chairman, Danladi Umar
withdraw from his trial over bribery
allegations
– Rotimi Jacobs, the lead prosecution
lawyer said the investigation of the bribery
allegation against Umar had been concluded
and the AGF and had cleared him of the
alleged bribery
– He said it was absurd that Saraki would
insist on remaining Senate president while
urging Umar to disqualify himself
– Also speaking, Umar said he has been
cleared of the allegation by both the EFCC
and the AGF
The federal government said it was
laughable that Bukola Saraki who is on trial
for corruption would insist on remaining the
Senate president while urging the Code of
Conduct Tribunal Chairman, Danladi Umar, to
withdraw from his trial over bribery
allegations.
Saraki asked Umar to withdraw from his trial
over bribery allegations against him.
At the hearing on Wednesday, April 27,
Rotimi Jacobs, the lead prosecution lawyer
in the trial of the Senate president, queried
the moral right of Saraki to question the
integrity of Umar and to ask him to
disqualify himself from the trial, The Nation
reports.
Jacobs said: “ This motion is absurd. The
defendant (Saraki), who has been charged to
court, is still performing his statutory duty as
a senator till today, saying that the
Constitution guarantees him presumption of
innocence.

Naira stays flat against dollar at N319 – N322 in black market

Naira stays flat against dollar
at N319 – N322 in black
market

recent findings shows that the naira has made no
significant strength against the dollar in the
black market.
This comes on the heels of report from our
Bureau De Change (BDC) sources that
nation’s currency is still hovering around
N319 – N322 as it was on Tuesday, April 26.
READ ALSO: Naira strengthens to N318 to
dollar in parallel market

“The dollar is still at N319 as it was
yesterday. It will likely stay like that
throughout this week.”
However, our Lagos based BDC source who
had informed us that said the nation’s
currency had crashed further to N322, said it
had strengthened slightly.
He said: “It is N321 as against the N322 it
was yesterday
It was gathered that the naira is expected
not to rise or fall significantly at the parallel
and official foreign exchange market all
through this week. This is owing to the fact
that the economy demand for foreign
exchange has eased after President
Muhammadu Buhari’s delayed signing of the
2016 budget.
But with the executive arm of the
government and the National Assembly
resolving their lingering face-off over the
2016 budget at a meeting on Tuesday, April
26, there are signs that President Buhari
would sign the document into law anytime
from now.

Some Nigerian musicians who have been missing out in 2016

Nigerian musicians who
have been missing in 2016

The year 2016 has been an amazing year in
terms and view of the growth in the music
industry with several international
recognitions, collaborations and more. But
several musicians have been off the radar
which is pretty disturbing.
With pop stars Wizkid and Davido blazing the
trail and others following closely, the
Nigerian music industry is set to conquer
new terrains and open more doors for the
next generation given the present
accomplishments. And this is remarkably
sweet.
But what we find unusual is the fact certain
musicians have been off the radar in what
has been a boisterous year, in a thriving
music industry as ours and in an era with
absolute buzz and prospects for more.
It is pretty discomforting.
While some of the names on this list may be
suffering from an unusual form of
complacency (given they’ve got only a little
compared to what they can actually
achieve), other names on this list are an
embodiment of blandness characterized by
flat displays, absence when they least should
and more.
The fans are the winners in all of this
because whatever the case they have
interesting pieces to listen to any day and
anytime given the volume of music currently
circulating within the internet and
mainstream Nigeria.

15 Nigerian
songs that defined 2015 (Videos)
This piece has nothing personal against
anyone or group of persons but it will have
served its purpose if it succeeds in the
minimal task of nudging some of our
Nigerian musicians here so that they realize
the need to awaken from their slumber as
the Nigerian entertainment industry is on the
cusp of rewriting history on several planes.
This said, we present 15 Nigerian musicians
who have gone off the radar in 2016 and
need to get their acts together as now is
the time:
1. Niyola
The 30-year-old talented R&B singer has
been a bit too quiet all year leaving us with
the impression that she is on a hiatus. We
wonder who cleared her for this sort of
break on the EME management.

2. Waje
Waje is a vocal powerhouse any day but
she’s been particularly quiet when she
shouldn’t, and save for her current
appearance on The Voice as a coach there’s
only so much she has done all year in terms
of releases, collaborations and activities
regarding increasing her catalogue.

3. Dr SID
Riding on the fame of Surulere from 2014
and the less dominant hit song Kabiyesi in
2015, the Mavin star hasn’t been up to much
in 2016 and this leaves us with a disquieting
calmness.

4. Omawumi
Omawumi is a super star and we love that
she started 2016 on a superb note with the
Angelique Kidjo collaboration for Play Na
Play. But that’s been all thus far and many
believe she should be up to more as this is
possibly the turning point in the industry’s
history.

5. Vector
The year 2015 was splendid for Vector Tha
Viper but he’s failed thus far to replicate
that form and magic. What this portends is
danger in the fact that his riding on the
success and acclaim of King Kong will only
take him so far.

Nass commission dares Senate
president Bukola Saraki

– National Assembly Service Commission
has insisted that Mr Mohammed Sani-
Omolori is as acting clerk to the National
Assembly
– Senate President Bukola Saraki had
rejected the appointment of Sani-Omolori
– The National Assembly Service
Commission through its chairman, Dr Adamu
Fika said Mr Saraki was ill-informed
Mohammed Sani-Omolori’s
appointment has raised several
controversy in the National
assembly
In what could be described as a show of
power, the National Assembly Service
Commission (NASC) has dismissed the order
of Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, to
reverse the appointment of

Mr Mohammed
Sani-Omolori as acting clerk to the National
Assembly.
The commission through its chairman, Dr
Adamu Fika said Mr Saraki was ill-informed.
NASC had appointed Mohammed Sani-
Omolori as acting clerk to the National
Assembly ahead of the incumbent deputy
clerk to the National Assembly, Mr Ben
Efeturi, a move Mr Saraki expressly rejected
through a letter to the commission.
Responding to Saraki’s letter, Fika, in a leter
dated April 26, said Omolori happened to be
the next most senior clerk adding that the
commission discovered that the incumbent
deputy clerk to the National Assembly, Mr
Ben Efeturi, would proceed on pre-retirement
leave on August 2, 12 days before the
outgoing clerk, Salisu Maikasuwa, would be
due to retire.
Fika’s letter to the Senate president read in
part: “I wish to kindly invite your attention to
the reason alleged in your letter to have been
used to deny Mr Bene Efeturi from being
appointed as the acting clerk, being that he
was not duly appointed as deputy clerk of the
National Assembly.
