Ex minister Oduah reportedly stole N3.6bn

Ex minister Oduah reportedly
stole N3.6bn

Sahara Reporters provides with reference to
its sources within the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that
the agency has traced N3.6bn in stolen
funds to the former minister of
aviation, Stella Oduah.
According to the report, Oduah who served
under Goodluck Jonathan’s
administration secured several multi-billion
naira contracts to upgrade Nigeria’s 22
airports, however a substantial amount of
the money was pocketed by the minister.
The information was obtained from the
documents which show that only six out of
the 192 contracts awarded in the second
phase were completed.

This allegation comes in addition to the
N255m bulletproof cars purchase scandal
which made national news and cost
Oduah the appointment as a minister during
Jonathan’s term .
It should be noted that Oduah has
recently obtained an interim injunction
preventing the EFCC from investigating,
arresting, questioning, or prosecuting her.
However, later the injunction was annulled,
which allowed the EFCC to commence the
probe into the cars purchase probe. The
investigation was said to have shown that
the ex minister not only misallocated N255m
but also dirverted N3.6bn to the eight
companies created for money laundering.
