A man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to
death in the Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara
state, on Monday, April 25, for refusing his
marriage proposal.
Reports say the franchise officer with one of
the leading mobile telecommunication
operators also stabbed his girlfriend’s mother
when she tried to settle the issue between
the two. She sustained serious injuries and
was rushed to the University of Ilorin
Teaching Hospital where she is receiving
treatment.

Investigations by Thisday newspaper
revealed that the man is currently on the
run. The spokesman of the Kwara state
police Command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi who
confirmed the incident said he has been
declared wanted.
According to Leadership Newspaper, prior to
the tragic incident, the deceased who had
been in a relationship with the suspect for
some time, insisted that she could not marry
him.
“It was gathered that they went out on Sunday
night and returned to the girl’s house at Tanke
area of Ilorin where the mother had also come
on a visit to her daughter. Early yesterday
morning, the argument resurfaced with the girl
still maintaining her position. The young man
was said to have allegedly threatened to kill
the lady if she refused his proposal.

(CAC) identified as Moses Abiodun has been
arrested by the Ondo state command of the
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence
Corps (NSCDC) for burying something

church.

NSCDC officials swooped on the 34-year-old
suspect on Wednesday, April 27, following a
tip-off that the cleric had buried some fetish
items inside his church located at Ikota in
Ifedore local government area of the state.
According to the Punch, the state
commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Fasiu
Adeyinka told journalists on Thursday, April
28, that the suspect was the founder of the
C.A.C ‘Dagunro’ and he was suspected to
have buried something suspected to be
human head inside his church.
He said his men had visited Abiodun’s
church where some fetish items were
exhumed, prompting the arrest of the cleric.

As a follow-up to President Muhammadu
Buhari’s recent visit to China, the Chinese
Consul-General in Nigeria, Liu Khan, has
visited Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo
state to explore investment opportunities in
the state and locate more Chinese industries
there.
Governor Oshiomhole has prioritized
strengthened diplomatic relations with China
with a view to deepening investment ties
with the people and government of China.
Receiving the consul-general in his office,
Oshiomhole thanked him for leading a
delegation of investors to the state.

“Let me thank you, Mr Khan, for leading a
delegation to pay us a visit. They, along with
other Chinese companies, have set up various

products they are producing, ceramic tiles and
iron rods which we badly need for our
construction industry.
“They shared with me their plans to further
expand their operations. I have discussed with
them about the possibility of establishing new
investments in Edo state because we have so
much natural resources besides oil and gas
which we have in sufficient quantity.

The National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) is
to deploy doctors, nurses and other medical
corps members to all the major Internally
Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across the
country, the Director General of the Corp,
Brigadier General Suleiman Zakari Kazaure
has announced.
General Kazaure, who spoke in Yola
yesterday at the Damare IDP camp, stated
that the move is to solve the present
medical challenges facing the camps.
While on his maiden visit to the Adamawa
state corps directorate, the
general admonished other stakeholders and
told them not to relent in their efforts at
bringing succor to displaced persons.

28, decried the way and manner that the
Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) case
against the Senate President Bukola Saraki,
has been handled.
Speaking with newsmen on the sidelines of
the CCT, Waku said that he was mandated
by the Arewa Consultative Forum to observe
the proceedings, and report back to the
forum.
He said in as much as we are against
corruption, let the legal process take its due
cognisance.
