Budget 2016 to take effect in
“few days” – VP Osinbajo

– The implementation of the 2016 budget
will begin in the near future
– The presidency is aware of Nigerians
being concerned about the situation
The controversial budget 2016 will be put
into effect in “a few days”, according to
the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The general and vague wording was given
by Mr Osinbajo at the 12th Edition of The
Platform, a public policy forum held in Abuja



“The 2016 budget will go into full operation in
the next few days,” Mr. Osinbajo said.
He also noted that he knows about Nigerians
Nigerians disconent with the current
situation and assured that Muhammadu
Buhari-led administration make every effort
to reslove all the challenges.
The 2016 budget, which was first presented
on December 22, 2015, has been marred by
widespread irregularities and fraud, forcing
Nigerian president to retrieve it for a
makeover in January this year.

While the 2016 budget is yet to be signed by
President Muhammadu Buhari following
distortion by the Senate, the ministry of
budget and national planning says it has
begun the preparation of 2017 budget
